Homek - Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026
Homek (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a household coordination app that helps people track chores, rewards, and shared responsibilities in a transparent and fair way.
We take privacy seriously and collect only the data necessary to operate the app.
Shared Household Data
Homek is built around shared households (“homes”).
Household data is shared among members of a home and is not owned or controlled by any single user.
1. Accounts & Sign-In
Homek requires an account to function.
Users sign in only via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
We do not support email/password accounts
We do not allow anonymous or guest usage
From Apple or Google, we receive:
An email address (unless Apple’s anonymous relay is used)
A unique user identifier
We do not collect or store account passwords.
2. Data We Collect
Account & Identity Data
Email address (used for account identification)
User ID (used internally to operate the app)
We do not collect real names.
Users may choose a display name, which can be changed at any time.
Profile pictures are not uploaded by users — avatars are selected from a fixed, predefined set.
Household & App Content
We store user-generated content required for Homek to function, including:
Chore titles and descriptions
Completion timestamps
Reward values
Ratings or reviews between household members
This data is:
Visible only to members of the same household
Never public by default
Photos
Users may upload photos to document completed chores.
Photos are associated with a household (“home”) and are considered shared household content
Photos are visible only to members of the same household
Photos are not public
Photos are not used for advertising, tracking, or marketing
Photos are managed at the household level rather than the individual user level
Usage & Diagnostics
We collect limited technical data to improve reliability and performance:
App interactions (e.g. feature usage)
Crash reports
Performance data (e.g. load times)
This data is used strictly for:
App functionality
Analytics
Stability and debugging

Homek stores data securely using trusted cloud infrastructure providers, including Google Cloud Platform
Data is primarily processed and stored within the European Economic Area (EEA)
We use industry-standard security practices to protect user data
We may process data outside the EEA where necessary, using appropriate safeguards
3. Payments & Payouts
Homek uses Stripe to process payments and payouts.
All payment processing and identity verification (KYC) is handled by Stripe
We do not store full payment card numbers or bank details
We may store non-sensitive identifiers, such as the last 4 digits of a card, for user reference only
Users can cash out real money to bank accounts via Stripe
Users who choose gift card redemption have the minimum necessary data (such as email and reward amount) shared with licensed gift card providers to fulfill the redemption
Homek does not have access to full payment credentials.
4. Tracking & Advertising
Homek does not perform cross-app tracking
We do not use IDFA
We do not sell user data
We do not share user data with data brokers
5. Children & Families
Homek is designed for households and families.
Children may use Homek as a part of a household under parental supervision
There is no age verification
Access to real money payouts requires Stripe identity verification
Homek does not knowingly collect additional personal data from children beyond what is necessary.
Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children’s use of Homek.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Homek is designed around shared households (“homes”) and individual user accounts. Data deletion follows the structure of this system.
Account Deletion
Users may request deletion of their account at any time.
However, account deletion is only possible if:
The user has no remaining balance (including claimed or unclaimed rewards)
All payouts have been completed
If these conditions are not met, the account must be settled before deletion.
When an account is deleted:
The user’s access is permanently removed
Associated inactive household profiles may be deleted
Leaving a Household
Users may leave a household at any time.
When a user leaves:
Their access to the household is removed
Their participation becomes inactive within that household
Household Data
Households cannot be manually deleted.
A household becomes inactive when all members have left.
Inactive households:
May be retained for a period of time
May be deleted or cleaned up over time, including associated content such as photos
Financial Constraints
To protect users and ensure system integrity:
Accounts cannot be deleted if any funds (including rewards or referral earnings) remain
Households cannot become inactive if unresolved balances exist within the system
