Homek - Terms of use

Introduction

Homek (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a household coordination app that helps users organize chores, rewards, and shared responsibilities.

By using Homek, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree, you should not use the app.

1. Using Homek

Homek is designed to be used within shared households (“homes”).

Users interact with each other through the platform to:

  • assign and complete chores

  • track rewards

  • manage shared responsibilities

Homek provides tools for coordination but does not control or enforce how users behave within a household.

2. Accounts

Homek requires an account to function.

Users sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining access to your account

  • ensuring your account is used appropriately

We may suspend or remove accounts if these Terms are violated.

3. Households (“Homes”)

Users participate in Homek through shared households.

Home creation

Any user may create a home.

Home roles

Each home has a home boss, who has additional control, including:

  • setting rewards

  • managing household structure

  • removing users

Shared environment

Homes are shared systems:

  • data is visible within the home

  • actions affect all members

  • decisions are made at the household level

Homek does not intervene in household decisions.

4. Rewards & Payments

Homek includes a system for tracking rewards and payouts.

Reward system

  • Chores may have assigned reward values

  • Household members may rate completed chores

  • If no rating is submitted within a defined period, a default rating may be applied

  • Final payouts are calculated automatically based on these inputs

This system is designed to help households manage fairness internally.

Homek does not guarantee outcomes or resolve disputes.

Payments

  • Users may add funds (“top-ups”) to their household balance

  • Users may withdraw funds through supported payout methods

  • Users may also redeem balances as gift cards through licensed third-party providers

  • Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (e.g. Stripe)

Homek does not store full payment credentials.

Homek complies with applicable anti-money-laundering requirements through its payment partners. Suspicious activity may be reported as required by law.

No refunds

Top-ups are intended for use within Homek and are generally non-refundable.

In exceptional cases (such as technical errors or legal requirements), requests may be reviewed at our discretion.

5. Referral Rewards

Homek may offer referral-based rewards.

Referral rewards:

  • are generated from actual platform activity (such as household top-ups)

  • are shared as part of Homek’s revenue model

We aim to maintain a stable and predictable referral system.

However, referral rewards may be adjusted if required due to:

  • changes in the platform

  • external constraints (such as regulatory or payment requirements)

  • maintaining the integrity and sustainability of the system

Referral rewards are not guaranteed as a permanent or fixed source of income.

6. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

  • how they use Homek

  • how they interact with others in their household

  • any agreements made within their home

Homek does not create, enforce, or guarantee agreements between users.

All financial and behavioral arrangements are made at the household level.

7. Children & Families

Homek is designed for use within households, including families.

Children may use Homek as part of a household, under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

Parents or guardians are responsible for:

  • supervising children’s use of Homek

  • any financial activity involving children

Minors do not hold direct payout accounts; redemption involving minors is mediated through verified household administrators (the home boss).

Homek does not verify ages and does not assume responsibility for child supervision.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use Homek for illegal activities

  • abuse or exploit the system

  • attempt to manipulate rewards or payouts unfairly

  • interfere with the operation of the platform

We may take action, including suspension or removal, if misuse is detected.

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Homek if:

  • these Terms are violated

  • misuse or abuse is detected

  • required for legal or operational reasons

Users may stop using Homek at any time.

10. Service Availability

Homek is provided “as is”.

We do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted availability

  • error-free operation

  • continuous access to all features

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homek is not liable for:

  • disputes between users

  • household decisions

  • missed or disputed payouts

  • loss of expected rewards

  • indirect or consequential damages

Homek acts as a coordination tool and is not responsible for outcomes within households.

12. Changes to the Service

We may update or modify:

  • features

  • reward systems

  • payment structures

from time to time.

We aim to make changes responsibly and in a way that maintains the integrity of the platform.
